I hate clothes shopping. I think most things don't look good on me, is this normal? I end up feeling hung up on the way i look even though i'm a guy. I feel awkward around young people, even though i'm 22 I feel horrendously un-cool and out of touch. I can't even dress myself? :s

Well i hate clothes shopping. I really doubt that anything looks good on me, though i don't worry about looking 'cool'. I still hate clothes shopping.

Lots of people hate clothes shopping. It's frustrating for me sometimes and I actually like fashion. Pay close attention to what other well-dressed men are wearing and find someone who will give you an honest opinion if you're unsure about a certain look. Figure out some styles that generally suit you and try not to worry too much about it. Unless you're style is really odd, I'm sure you'll look fine. If you're aiming to look age-appropriate, stick to stores and sections that are aimed at your demographic.

Clothes shopping, I don't LIKE doing it. I know people that do...my cousins husband has more pairs of shoes than his wife and me put together! It's absurd I tells ya. I'm not a fashion guy...I wear shoes to protect my feet from rocks/puddles, I wear a shirt out of common courtesy and I wear pants because nobody gets to see me without pants without being my girlfriend...and/or paying for it :D. I used to think that nothing looked good on me, but I adopted a very simple style, jeans and conservative colored shirts...it seems to work...I'll try other stuff on when I'm feeling dangerous, but once I see it in the mirror...if it's no good, it comes off immediately. The mirror is your friend...even if the guy in it isn't :p (man that was corny)

I dislike going to malls and seeing people in my age group; while I feel better about clothes shopping (after losing approximately 20 pounds and learning to take better care of myself), I still get my bouts of low-esteem and feel terrible now and then.
It's tough.
For myself, I don't care for fashion trends or anything or the sort.
As long as you look clean and do not look like a rainbow, you're fine.

Honestly, I just prefer the guy in a plain t-shirt and jeans than a fashionista.
(I have met one, and my god, what a tool. @_@)

I've been considering shopping online to see what kind of fashion I like. Maybe this is something you could consider?

Clothes shopping is evil. I hate it. I like my clothes, but I don't like how most of them look on me. I do believe it is a self-esteem issue.

Try not to worry so much about looking cool and focus on just feeling comfortable with how you look in clothes that you like.
