I really appreciated how those who responded opened up to me. See, I don't really have many friends either. I'm sort of a loner and shy. So that makes it even harder.
To the poster who said a family member became "Christian" and was told he didn't need anybody but his Christian "family" anymore, that's what happened to my oldest son. I really believe that he is being told in his very extreme church that his family is those who think like him. Even for my son I can't make myself fall into line with the extremity of his beliefs. He is judgmental on every level...I never know what I can and can't say...or do. I do have four other children and a husband who also can't seem to follow his rules.
But I still miss the little boy I raised who was such a friendly, good kid.
