Anybody going out and celebrating the New Year ?

I usually go to bed well before midnight. I have had zero invitations but not bothered at all, in fact it's just another day !

Nope, could have gone out but I'll be sat at home with Annik and my eldest and probably getting pleasantly tipsy on a bottle of wine.

New Years out is stressful anyway, you have to pay to get into your local bar because its 'amateur hour' and they're full of people who only come out for new years! Neverr any fun being squashed into a pub for 4 hours where you can't hear yourself speak.

I'm going to Firkin and Gryphon, sit at the bar, and have whiskey neat all night wishing I had someone to kiss at the stoke of midnight. LOL!

I never understand why pubs/bars charge you to go there on New Year's Eve. It's like these churches which charge you to go to their carol service before Christmas.
A quiet new year can be easier on the nerves, but is also pretty lonely. Let's hope this coming year is better for all of us on this site.

I'm going to see The Hobbit this evening with family, but I'm probably going to be home afterward.
