Not mad for this painting but I was after energy and colour and it has those - I think. But every time I paint tulips it never comes out quite right.

Beautiful picture, love the colour of my favourite flowers.

Have you been spying on my house as the picture looks exactly like the vase of tulips on my dresser :p

I love when you buy them and they're all straight and then gradually over time they bend in all different directions

Thanks guys!

^ It's basically a bit of a post-impressionistic style. You might find it vaguely reminiscent of a Van Gogh (not that I would compare myself to him!) and those artists painting along those lines. It still holds a relationship to the real form, but less dissolved and 'floaty' than the impressionists. Sort of. A bit, anyway. Sorry if that's TMI.

Knowing a bit about art and being able to paint are unfortunately two very different things. Mind you, it's the doing of it I love. :D

Beautiful! I wish I had some artistic bone in me like you.

Anyway, I actually thought of Tulip23 when I saw the title of this thread and actually thought it was about Tulip23. :p

^ Thanks you guys! I know Tulip23 loves tulips, in a way she inspired it, sometimes there are so many things to pick from, one kind of needs something to help narrow the field. I have started a painting based on the 3rd photo I took from the Walk with my Dog thread and it might turn out to be a good one! I'll post it anyway but it will be - Minus the martian water-tower lol!
