Yay! Last Thursday's episode was great.

I didn't realize that it was based off of a book series until a guy at work and I were talking about it. I heard that they plan to incorporate all 3 books into this 10-epi show? I'm very intrigued and hope that they can find a way to extend it or make a spin-off.

Yeah, I heard about the 10 episode thing too. They could have easily gotten 4 seasons with the way the 3rd book ended.
As it is, they are going way too fast to extend it. They MIGHT be able to get a second season, depending on how they end it, but I don't see it happening.

Interesting.

Without giving detail, do you feel that everything was 'wrapped up' at the end of the third book? Or, were there any storylines that could still need some answers? If the latter is the case, then I do hope they consider a second season. It seems to be doing very well in the ratings.

Without giving details, lol. The last book ended in a way that could allow another...generation. Personally, I would like to see a fourth book to see what happens.

I don't think that's giving too much away of you haven't read the books.

Nope, I think you gave the exact answer I was looking for. You should be a politician. ;)

I surely hope they can make both a 4th book and extend the series.

I have read some negative comments regarding Shyamalan's hiring as the director. But, I really liked the way he has approached the characters' stories, especially this last episode. It's kept me on the edge of my seat. There are a couple of the recent revelations that I don't fully 'get', but I hope they explore that as the show progresses.

I think SeaBee has recorded but not watched it yet, so I don't want to name those aspects until he has a chance to see them.

I can imagine it would be extremely good if you haven't read the books. Having read the books, I can see how much they are leaving out, so I don't find it quite as good as it could be.

OK, that could be good for me, then. When the series is over, I will come at you with questions like an investigative reporter!

Thanks to this thread I started watching this show and it's amazing! I even got most of my family to start watching it lol

Ooooh, yay - a new recruit! Welcome aboard. :)

Have you read the books?

pfft, toss the books out the window, they strayed too far from them. I don't know what's going to happen next. I hope it ends the same way the books do.

Well, there is a tiny chance they bring it back to the books from the preview of the next episode, but I'm not expecting them to.

Haha - now, you're just as clueless as I am! :p

I saw a few episodes of this show...creepy ****-ish teacher encouraging teens to have sex...then those weird things at the end of the last episode. Not really my kind of show, and seems like it's been done a few times before in different ways.

Yeah, I think they are going back to the book now. So sorry, Misguided, I'm not as clueless as you now :p
Ugh, that's OK. I am used to being clueless. :D
