Oh, it was just so...ugh. If they do decide to have an S2, I don't know that I will watch.

^Did you watch it, Solivagant? What are your thoughts on it?

*I don't know if a spoiler alert is really needed, but here it is.*

Yes, I watched. I expected an unexpected ending, but I definitely wasn't expecting it to end like that... if that makes sense, lol. I have mixed feelings. On one hand, it was nice to see something I wasn't predicting. But on the other hand... it kind of sucked, lol. It left me feeling unsatisfied. And Ethan's death seemed totally needless. A few things throughout the series were like that; it didn't always make much sense.

Despite that though, overall I really enjoyed watching the series. I'd be interested to hear how the books ended. I can't seem to find a synopsis anywhere. =/

Yes, this! I really liked the finale...until about the last 5 minutes or so. I am left with far more questions than answers.

Unsatisfied is a great description! Highlight for spoiler comments: [(1)So....the entire town of adults -many of whom are now armed- was subdued by six armed teenagers? OK. (2)And, who in their right mind would want to leave, now that everyone has witness the abbies' existence? (3)Speaking of which, there were about 100,000 of those suckers that descended upon the town. Between the ones that Kate's group killed and those that Ethan blew up...where are the other 99,000? Should I believe that they just called it a day and decided to go back home to the creepy woods? Or, perhaps the six teenagers have some sort of Navy SEAL-ninja training and fought them all off. (4) I also didn't understand how the abbies knew the exact moment that the fence was disarmed. Do they have some sort of sixth sense or just really good timing? Just silly.]

I am hoping Miss Callie will help us out with that. :)

Okay, okay....First let me say that there are unanswered questions from the book too, especially on how the BOOK ended. That said, there are many more unanswered questions in the SHOW.

I'll white the type in case someone wants to read the books. Don't highlight if you plan to read them!!!! If I forgot anything or you have any other questions, just ask. :p

So, first there's David (Ethan and Kate's Boss), he's not dead, he's out on an expedition trying to find more life and/or a way to end the abbies and/or find out how they function. Theresa is actually activated long before Ethan is and Ben is only like 8 in the book. (There are no vengeful children of the corn in the book and there is little focus on the children, except for Ben.) Theresa and David are "paired" together and they are in love and all that, then he goes out on his expedition. Toward the end of the book, David comes back to town and yes, there's a triangle, but Theresa goes with Ethan.
The group of rebels are NOT vengeful either, they just gather together to discuss old times and their pasts. There are no bombs at all and no one dies from the rebel group. There is also no creepy teacher.

With that said, we are moving to where Ethan calls a reckoning on Kate. In the book, the reckoning is called on both Kate and Harold. Now, it goes the same way it does in the show, Ethan tells the truth of the situation. Pilcher DOES turn off the power in the book. This lets the abbies into the town. Everyone is running like crazy, trying to get into the rebels hideout, but the abbies follow them. This is where Harold dies. So, Ethan decides that he needs to get into the compound and take care of Pilcher. He goes to the compound and corners him, and Pilcher is put into isolation where he can't do any more damage.
Back to the group that didn't go to the compound....So, the abbies are in there and Theresa and Ben are working their way around, climbing down and eventually they get to the sheriff's station, where they are trying to get guns, but the abbies come in and they are forced to lock themselves into a cell. Night comes and Pam comes in. (she doesn't come to her senses in the book, she is not nice and she's not old either.) She sees them locked in a cell and decides to kill them, so she grabs a gun. She's about to shoot them and then someone (I think it's David, this is where he comes back) and shoots Pam.
So, they get out of the cell and go to find the others, who are holed up in various places around the town. They are killing abbies as they go and as they meet up with people, they work together to stay safe.
Ethan gets the compound back under control and the snipers are tasked with shooting the leftover abbies in the town.
Now, obviously the town is destroyed and in the compound, it is discovered that the food chambers are getting very low and the people won't be able to be sustained much longer, so there's really nothing anyone can do. They have the decision to either try to travel to Florida or somewhere south where they can grow food all year round or go back into the preservation chambers. So they decide to go back into the chambers in hopes that sometime in the future, humans will be human again. The very end of the book is someone opening the chambers.

Those are some significant differences. I have to wonder how to show could have progressed beyond one season, if some of those aspects were applied. It would have been interesting to see the triangle and how the traits of the book characters would have changed things.

Shyamalan is such a dick.

OMG, right?! I am excited. Terrence and freaky school teacher are in this one again...wonder how that will play out. Empire is crazy hot, so I can't imagine he will stay in WP long.

I must say, I'm not enjoying this season. I hope something good happens soon....now excuse me while I go tell my monkey to stop jumping on the bed.
