I have vague memories of my early childhood (from when I was 6 or 7 and younger) of my mother singing this a lot. As a kid, I didn't really understand it. I just thought that some of it was funny and that the meter of it made it funny. As an adult I'm like: That's a pretty ****** up thing to sing to your kids.
