4? Um, no. I was thinking like 7 or 8 when the sun starts to go down....depending on the size of your lawn. (Takes me about 1.5 hours to mow mine) Wait as long as possible to get it in before it gets dark. Or wake up early to get it done before it gets overbearingly hot. Also I'd recommend doing it after the UV and brightness calms down. For me it's usually around 4PM or so.
I use AccuWeather, it tells you about things like UV and air quality.
Don't forget to wear shades and put on sunscreen, eye and skin health is no joke. I use them when I do yardwork all the time.
Blame Skafish....he started it. lolBut that ends tomorrow, heaven help us.

Or....just leave it until it's cooler. lol But I live out in the country, so I can do that. People in towns can't always because of "laws."
When the day starts at nearly 80, there's no chance of dew. LolI use an electric mower with a cord, so I have to wait until there is no dew on the grass.
Also, I don't want to risk chopping up lightning bugs, so I try to avoid doing it too close to when they come out.
But those are my reasons, others might have different circumstances.
And living in a town, I have to keep it cut because of the "laws", as well.
Luckily in this case, I don't have nearly as big of a lawn to manage, so that changes the situation too.
Although, I must say I do like big lawns.
Also, big lawns are a pain in the *** to maintain. I mean, I don't. I cut the grass (or I don't lol) and that's it.Although, I must say I do like big lawns.

You are aware that lightning bugs rest on the ground during the day, right? So you have more chances of hitting them during the day than at night.

Too hot and it doesn't look like it's going to get better this week at least.
Why didn't I get a job that has air conditioning...
I like BIG LAWNS and I cannot lie...
No frost but the furnace is running. Too late in the year for this chill.Cold and Frosty.
