Beautiful and snowy. A dump of snow overnight, hovering around -2 C at the moment, but plummeting into highs of -12/lows of -20 C for the next few days. The view from my office window this morning.

That is win chill. Actually temperature is a nice balmy -9 F.
The strong wind just makes it feel worse and it is expected to get worse

- 9 Fahrenheit is still pretty dang bad, right? Since your freezing point is somewhere in the low 30's? Yikes.

Yes, you have it. Freezing in F is +32 so if it was 41 degrees warmer, it would be up to freezing.

So it is -22.8 C

As far as how bad, well with the wind it isn't comfortable but the worst I recall for actual temperature was -30F.
Fortunately that is rare around here.
