I saw the hawk last night on a basketball backboard, when I was out on my run at around 7 PM.
This morning we saw the hawk again, sitting for a long time on the electrical wire.
Unfortunately I couldn't get a good picture, because to get a good one you have to get close, but to get close, you trip the hawk's keen senses, and he flies away.
I think it was probably the same one, because we're only a few blocks away from where I saw the hawk last night and he was about the same size.
I'm glad to see him back around, anyway.

I saw a giant bumblebee on the primrose this morning when I was watering our recently transplanted flowers.
He was much bigger than most bumblebees I've seen, so I checked to make sure he was in fact a bumblebee, and not a carpenter bee, who are usually much bigger than bumblebees. But he was in fact a bumble, got some pictures.

You can tell, usually by the size, and definitely by the abdomen -
a fuzzy abdomen is a bumblebee, while a shiny abdomen is a carpenter bee.

He was covered in pollen and really hitting a lot of flowers.
They didn't come up with the phrase "busy as a bee" for nothing! 🌼 🐝
