Snakes. They have great multi-cultural symbolism for not only danger but also as metaphors for time in relation to how snakes shed their skin representing a sort of differentiation between Time and Timelessness. Genetically, they're fascinating as well because they can be morphed within their many breeds to come up with rare genetics, offering some beautiful scale colors and patterns on exotic rarities going at extremely high prices in the pet market.
