i was shocked to hear it though it is such a simple word.
i had just bought my room key and was sliding it in the door
when the girl who had been watching me actually spoke to me.
i just turned and stared at her astonished that she was speaking to me.
i couldn't find my words, she just kept starring at me
with this huge grin on her face like she had just won the lottery or something.
God, its such a simple word but for the life of me i couldn't bring it out.
when i finally said it it came out sounding misplaced
like that final note in a beautiful song that just ends sharply,
"hi."

i swept myself and the pieces left of me into my room
and laid on the hard bed cursing myself for being so shy.
i staid up that whole night just starring at the wall
and when the sun rose and the stars fell
i could have sworn i heard crying.
it was comming from the girl next door,
the one with the hoodie.

i wondered if i made her cry
or if it was something i should worry about.
i watched out my window looking for her
and finally she passed,
her eyes red and swollen with tears.

she had been crying all night.
i felt like **** so i baracaded myself in my room all day
until i was sure she was no longer around.
i ran to my truck and sat there.

i guess i had planned on going somewhere
but by the time i got in my truck
i had already forgotten where i was going
so i sat there until i fell asleep.
