i awoke to the sound of tears again
and as i sat up i realized it was late in the evening
but through the darkness i could see
that same girl crying on the sidewalk,
her face in her hands.

she was crying cause she was tired of sleeping alone,
cause she was tired of not sleeping at all.
she was crying because she was a wallflower,
because the best she could do was say, "hi."

i walked over and sat down beside her
i took her hand in mine and under the moon
we just sat there, hand in hand
knowing eachother more than we knew ourselves.

i don't know if i said the right words that night,
i hope i did but i'll never know,
cause when i opened my eyes in her bed the next morning
she was gone.

i don't know where she went
but i hope she went home.
i really do.

so to whom ever finds these
pieces of paper just know
this one thing;
your sheets haven't been washed.
