I don't want to work!!!!

Holy honeysuckle, blast from the past. A guy I haven't heard from in years just messaged me.

In my opinion, Harris had no chance of winning. They really screwed up waiting so long and then picking her. But, let's be real here....it would have been bad no matter who won.

" Donald Trump will bring peace. "
" Donald Trump will end war in Ukraine. "
" Doland Trump will put planet in order. "
" Donald Trump is part of the Avengers. "
" Donald Trump will save the galaxy. "

😁 😁 😁 😁

1 Thessalonians 5:3 - " For when they shall say peace and safety, then sudden destruction comes upon them ... "

God Cares about America!!!

I don't think God had anything to do with it.
I never understood this, because Trump's entire life has been the opposite of what I thought Christianity was about.
It's almost as if he did go to church, but instead of living according to it, he decided to do everything the complete opposite. Like he thought church IS good advice - advice on what NOT to do. Because all that "being nice" sentimental stuff, it's for the weak - people too dumb/inferior to be strong, cunning, and competitive.

What I really think is going on, I'll put in Star Trek terms:

the Eugenics Wars are real, they are happening right now, and the Augments are winning.
Heaven help the rest of us.

Nailed it.

That can be said about almost all the Christians I know.....Believing in God and Christianity doesn't necessarily make you a good person.

That said, I don't personally know Trump, so I can't speak of what his values are or who he really is. Also, in the Christian fashion, it's not my place to judge.

Harris inherited the sh*tty Biden economy.
That was always going to be hard for her.
I think that sunk her more than anything else.
She really had to act like she was going to do something differently, and had a clear, concrete plan to do so.

People said our recovery from COVID was "the best in the world", which may have been true in a numbers sense, but it sure as hell didn't feel like it to the average person. For me personally it felt even worse than the Recession. The Recession wasn't fun but most things were still affordable. I still went out. I still drove my car. In fact during the Recession gas was under $2, and I thought they fixed it again. It was actually under $20 to fill the tank. I thought they understood they overplayed their hand, and that you can't do that $4 a gallon gas sh*t here and expect the country to function as a superpower. I though they understood like, OK, we got a little carried away. If the rich wanted to keep making money, they needed to let regular people have stuff too, they couldn't break the game. In contrast, these inflation years felt like the worst years of my life. It felt like the country was totally broken, and everything I grew up believing about the people who ran it understanding that they couldn't let it get too bad, went out the window. They acted like they couldn't care less about breaking the game anymore, because the economy was working for them and that's all that mattered. The rest of us could die of inflation and go to hell for all they cared. It was clear that they were not our guardians and caretakers. When Biden said "everything was fine" when it wasn't, it made a lot of people mad. I was, too.

Everything is fine, they said - yeah, for them, for the people that got to establish themselves during the good decades, before today's Sh*t Era that's been going on since the mid '00s or so. The rest of us were left on our own.

I think if Democrats want to win, they have to do the populist stuff too.
They have to actually listen to people's real problems. Things like groceries, housing, education, healthcare. Forget all this performative stuff.
The Dems lost me a long time ago, when it became clear that they were neoliberals too, just not as extreme as the Republicans. I feel like their job is to just get in power and then do nothing, to keep real leftists who would do something, out. They're like the billionaires' defensive line, while Republicans are the offense. Occasionally they'll distract us with some social justice stuff, but won't touch any of the economic issues that a lot of people struggle with. They barely even acknowledge those problems exist at all.

The Republicans aren't going to fix any of that. But people voted for them because they at least pretended to listen and care.
Democrats just say "shut up, stop complaining, everything is fine".
If that's all they've got, they're not going to win, simple as that.

Nailed it.

I've been saying it since 2015 and it seems an appropriate time to say it again:

Trump's life philosophy and personality have much more in common with that of 50 Cent, than that of Jesus.

It's funny to me how so many Republicans probably hate hip-hop, yet they idolize a man who personifies, and at one point inspired, many of its worst stereotypes.

The amount of money you have, sex you get, and power you have, determines your value as a person.
If you have more of those than someone, you're better than them.
If someone has more of those than you, they're better than you (which always made me wonder, why do all the regular people buy into this then? Do they enjoy being pissed on? I sure don't).

That's all life is, a cold, uncaring, cynical competition for those things.
That's all it should be about. It isn't and shouldn't be about anything else.
Anything else is for the weak/inferior, for losers.
Darwinian competition is a feature, not a bug.

Where are the "family values" they supposedly care about?

Sometimes I come off like I embrace these values myself.
I don't, I hate it. I hate the social status game. I hate natural selection/survival of the fittest/Darwinian competition.
It's just that I have to live in these people's world, as do we all, and I f*cking hate being insulted and treated like I'm inferior.
I want to enjoy my life before it's over. And a big part of that is NOT being treated like that all my life.

It's like he doesn't even try, though.
There's no internal battle to choose between right and wrong.
It's immediately to "wrong". It's not even a question.
Not only that but it's like he actively, consciously does the opposite, and makes only the barest attempt to hide it that a person would have to be born yesterday to believe.

You don't have to know Trump to know what his values or to know who he is.
It's in his words, but more importantly his actions. That's what embodies his beliefs and values.

That's your opinion though. And honestly, I think you're a little biased on the matter. Not saying he's never done anything wrong before, but everyone does stupid honeysuckle. A lot of people here think I'm a cold hearted *****. Does that mean it's true? No, it doesn't. It means they don't know a **** thing about me and they use their own personal bias and feelings to infer onto me and make me the bad guy. Now talking about just his last presidency, a lot of what he supposedly did was not him, but Congress. Same with the things he "should" have done. He tried to do some things people later said he should have done, but Congress shot him down. His presidency wasn't any better or worse than the majority of the other presidents.

Disclaimer....I am not a Trump fan. I'm a fan of facts and honesty and there is a lot of misinformation out there about Trump. I think both options were horrible choices for America, but I do feel Trump is a better option than Harris

I'm just saying, sure, I do wrong stuff all the time. I feel wrong feelings all the time.

However, I try to make these things as more of "mistakes", "things that I know are bad and that I try not to do, but that sometimes happen", rather than "this is my lifestyle, who I am and choose to be and see no problem with it whatsoever". I do bad, I know it's bad, sometimes there may be two steps forward and one step back, but I try to do less bad overall - rather than, I do bad, I know it's bad, and I don't care because it benefits me and that's all I really care about.

That's what I'm getting at.

But what I'm getting at is that you are assuming you know his motives and feelings....just like people here assume things about me. They don't know because they don't know me or how I think or feel. The same way you don't know Trump or how he thinks or feels.

String theory suggests that the fundamental particles we know about (like electrons and quarks) aren't actually tiny dots, but rather tiny, vibrating strings.

Think of these strings like little rubber bands, each vibrating at different frequencies, much like how different notes come from a guitar string.

The wild part?

These strings can vibrate in various dimensions.

While we’re used to three dimensions (up-down, left-right, forward-backward), string theory proposes there are many more dimensions—up to 10, or even 11!

These extra dimensions are hidden from our everyday view, all curled up in incredibly tiny spaces.

Where string theory becomes super exciting is in its potential to unify two big theories of physics.

Quantum mechanics explains the behavior of particles at the smallest scales, and general relativity explains how gravity works on large scales, like stars and galaxies.

So far, these two theories don’t mesh well together.

String theory aims to bridge that gap, offering a way to describe all fundamental forces and particles within a single framework.

Simple Origins of Life: RNA’s Formation on Basalt Lava Glass

Scientists at the Foundation for Applied Molecular Evolution have identified a natural setting for the formation of ribonucleic acid (RNA), one of life’s essential building blocks, that could be key to understanding the origins of life on Earth.

The research, published in the journal Astrobiology, reveals that RNA molecules can spontaneously form when basic ingredients interact with basalt lava glass, a material that was plentiful on Earth around 4.35 billion years ago.

According to the study’s lead researchers, including Steven Benner and Elisa Biondi, this breakthrough offers a straightforward path to RNA synthesis, one that requires no complex laboratory conditions.

Moreover, these findings suggest that similar conditions on ancient Mars could have supported RNA formation, raising the possibility of RNA-based life beyond Earth

How Basalt Glass Could Spark RNA Formation

The research reveals that lava glass, formed by the cooling of volcanic basalt lava, provided essential materials for RNA synthesis.

When nucleoside triphosphates—the building blocks of RNA—percolate through this glass, they can form long RNA molecules up to 200 nucleotides in length.

Lava glass was especially common on early Earth, a time marked by frequent meteorite impacts and extensive volcanic activity.

These events not only created lava glass but also contributed key minerals and conditions necessary for RNA synthesis.

As Earth scientist Stephen Mojzsis, who contributed to the study, explained, impacts dried the landscape, creating land-based aquifers where RNA could accumulate and assemble

Additionally, metals like nickel, released during meteorite impacts, play a vital role in forming nucleoside triphosphates.

Nickel combines with nucleosides, leading to the creation of the triphosphates needed for RNA formation, while borate, a mineral found in basalt, helps regulate this process.

The presence of these ingredients and the natural setup of basalt glass provided a unique environment that could foster the earliest genetic molecules needed for life.

what do you think about Trump's actions related to the scientific outlook on climate change and prevention behavior during pandemics

There is perhaps a special danger in democratic abuses of power, namely, that being collective they are stimulated by mob hysteria. The man who has the art of arousing the witch-hunting instincts of the mob has a quite peculiar power for evil in a democracy where the habit of the exercise of power by the majority has produced that intoxication and impulse to tyranny which the exercise of authority almost invariably produces sooner or later. Against this danger, the chief protection is a sound education designed to combat the tendency to irrational eruptions of collective hate.
