I'm not sure how to really get "known" or anything. I've always been sort of awkward until the ice was broken (I think many of us are like that from time to time). I don't know if people go to the chat on here or not, but I would like to get to know people honestly.

You could also try hanging around in the Games sections, that could be a good way to break the ice. Also I'm not sure about the IRC chat, never been much of a chat person but I think a few people used it initially, not so sure now.
