Some of the cheaper stuff tastes better sometimes
What I would do is replace all that famous brand **** with other snack-like foods, some unkown brands taste great
You can deep fry potatoes and make your own chips, taste better too
You can get a watermelon, keep it in the fridge, and get a slice every once in a while
You can eat fruits as sncaks
Get stove popcorn instead of the microwave one and add butter yourself
You make some strong points beautifulsorrow. When you say "Chips" are you referring to actual potato chips or french fries?
You can make both
I've made decent crunchy potato chips by leaving them in the deep fryer for longer, but you need to experiment with it I think, just cut out small circular or french fry perices and leave them in for longer
There is a webpage (http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Your-Own-Crunchy-Potato-Chips) that says you to get em crispy you cook them normally first then you take them out, wait for the oil to get hot again, then you put them back in
Thank you beautifulsorrow. Much appreciated.:)

Thin slices, toss them with a bit of olive oil and whatever spices/herbs you want and toss them in the oven....much healthier and tastes better :club:

Can you suggest any specific type of spice?

Anything works, as long as you like the spice. You could simply go with salt.
I've been known to use salt, pepper and garlic (simple and good, but I use real garlic).
If you want an italian flavor, you could use basil and oregano, possibly some marjoram or rosemary.
If you prefer spicy, you could toss in some chili powder or some chopped up peppers.
You could also toss in some BBQ sauce if you like those chips.

The possibilities are endless.

I have bad experiences with fruit, with the exception of apples all the stuff I buy tends to go bad before I get a chance to eat it.

Probably why I eat a lot of apples...
The Cookie Monster in my sig has issues with fruit as well.

Are you familiar with the traditional banner style signature? If you know anyone with any sort of artistic talent who could make one for you I think it might be something you'd enjoy.

I'll look into it. Thanks Limlim.:)

I just thought that I'd bitch about this. I was out earlier and went into a convenience store to buy a bottle of pop. The price for a 591ml bottle of "Crush" was $2.79! That's not even a full liter. I know that convenience stores are notorious for high prices, but c'mon. This is nuts. Please tell me the same size bottles where you live aren't that high in price. I'm just blown away is all.
