However I do NOT wear a wristwatch anymore. I have one to which I need to add a battery and maybe I will again.

I can relate...I have four or five watches gathering dust in a drawer. All need batteries - which constitutes as 'broken beyond repair' as I doubt I'll ever get round to it.
