Have you ever stopped wanting something that you can't have and then later, that longing comes back and smacks you right in the face? And it's like a pandemic. You can't cure it, treat it, wipe it or wash it off? It just sticks to you like glue and won't stop invading your thoughts? Your mind is simply annihilated by your own thoughts and longings, all the while, you know they are probably pointless. Yet within that maelstrom of chaos circling inside of your head, there is this teeny, tiny spark of hope that refuses to die.

As is often the case you either want something you can't have, or loose interest if it comes too easy.

Well...I guess I mean more like.... circumstances prevent you from going after what you want sometimes.

I feel this has been happening to me for 2 years.

Do you think that, one day, we will find ourselves in a position to move forward? I have to keep believing that I will (eventually). How about you?

I feel like this has happened to me my whole life... Although for a lot of it I am partially to blame.

Definitely, I kinda have to believe that, otherwise I'd just give up. But unfortunately believing this doesn't effect the present way of thinking, which what really makes you dwell on it.

Do you think you can change your circumstances then, Shy?

Yeah....makes sense. It's hard to keep reminding ourselves that things can turn on a dime, when they never do (or haven't yet).

:) That's awesome, Shy. I know you're been around here for a while, even though you don't post much, and you seem like a really good guy. Im glad to hear you're making some changes.

Sometimes. Lol you're not insane, just human :)

I don't think I can totally relate. I consider myself to be quite logical. So thoughts like desire/craving for something/someone/whatever becomes either a goal or an unattainable dream. If it becomes a goal then I work towards that goal. If it is an unattainable dream, then like 9006 I just immediately [give up] and shove it to the side and not really think about it anymore.
