I stopped a guy I used to know from committing suicide.
He was a total wreck and was crying and said he was seriously considering suicide, he rang me, I asked him where he was, I went straight there and we sat up all night talking. I hardly knew him, I don't know why he called me instead of somebody else.

I tried, for a long time, but failed.

At least you tried ;) which is good enough

you know, i have to disagree :/ it makes it worse :( first of all you fail and second of all it makes it so much easier to blame yourself for failing :(

i am sorry shells, that IS so sad :(
for whatever it's worth i am sure you have done all anyone could have in your situation. (hug).

She was my mom, a wonderful mom, and the best I could have asked for. Several illnesses, depression, and substance abuse robbed her from living a comfortable life.

I tried, but I knew she wasn't happy... Always in pain. Mentally, emotionally, physically. Although I am miserable without her being in my life, she's not suffering anymore.

years ago when i was a kid at busch gardens(theme park) with my family i potentially saved a baby or kids life. its really hilly throughout the whole park. there was a family standing at the top of a hill talking to each other and a stroller was behind them. it started rolling down the hill. i ran after it and managed to catch it right before it hit the edge of the walkway. there was a small fence there but on the other side of the fence was a long steep hill into water. i brought the carriage back up to them and it was like they didnt even know what happened. as a kid i didnt really think much of it. but almost every time my family comes down we go to there and my uncle always brings that up when we get to the spot that it happened.

Perhaps he knew you'll be the one who can save him

@ broken_doll - ^ yeah. and at any rate - the important part is that you succeeded.
