I have two ears and only one mouth so I should listen twice for every time I speak. OK, that isn't original....I heard it in a movie but it makes good sense. I'd add that it's better to listen twice and think three times before speaking. If people around here did that more, there'd be less unnecessary friction on this forum.

I say that as a guy who mouthed off in a PM to somebody in an incredibly horrible way, without thinking much about it. Not being banned permanently was an act of leniency by the mods. Lesson learned.
