thanks... so a ''kilt'' is a curb in which language? (I love languages and linguistics!) By the way, it's ''curb'' in North America and ''kerb'' in the UK.

For me, this is a kilt.

Sorry for the confusion. While the picture was of a curb, the unidentified ground covering was more of a focus, looking like overly wide young corn, though it wasn't, but was some bulb plants that were being tended by a young man wearing a kilt, who doesn't seem to appear in that particular photo.

OK, they kind of looked like tulips. I'm still waiting for the tulips to come this year.... it's gotta be soon! There is less and less snow. Love the patterned flowers!

rank (as in... not smelling nice... the opposite of your beautiful flowers!)

Could be tulips. Snow is gone here but it keeps threatening us with more. That patterned one does look rather unique.

kinsmen (some of them smell, some don't)

here, the snow is off the streets... it is lingering in yards and especially on north slopes and where it was piled up

notable (as in... no notable kinsmen, kinswomen)

Looks like they are calling for snow in a couple days. Last round just missed us and so far this next one looks insignificant. Now if the wind would just slow down. Seems like 50 - 60 mph gusts forever.

Encouraging

We have a wind storm warning... meaning no precipitation, but the wind is supposed to blow the water from the overflowing rivers onto the land and cause severe flooding. Then rain this week and snow Wednesday.... sigh.
