I'm gonna keep this brief because I'm not sure on what the responses will be on here. Basically in 2006 I chatted to someone online for a few months, got REALLY close spoke every day about everything and anything. After 3 months her dad dies, then her friend comes on that chat and tells me that the person i've talked to is very down and depressed and wants to die, then 2 weeks later she died too but would not tell me what happened.

She chats to me as this "friend" of the girl and kind of chats to make things a bit easier but doesnt tell me any details about it... Anyway after waking up a bit I now know this was all a load of C**P but I have noticed the same username on here that was on that chat site years ago with threads and chat posts sounding extremely similar in nature to the style i remembered.

Does anyone have any experiences of someone who is seemingly obsessed with death and depression and will stop at nothing and think of nobody but themselves while doing these things? I just wondered if anyone had heard of such a thing before?

Please don't divulge usernames to anyone. This may or may not be the person you think it is. Some people here live eerily similar lives, there are many users with a lot in common. It is between you and that person, spreading their username around may only cause unneeded drama.

As for your question, I've never encountered anything to the extent you have. It sounds like you think everything this person you chatted with had told you was a complete lie. That isn't uncommon for some people to do. They do it for attention. I had a friend who used to fabricate a lot about herself and her personal life. She wasn't very smart though because her twisting of events lead back to people who knew differently. Her lies were exposed and she lost a lot of friends because of it.
