Never Ending Story

Eddie just looked into all the yellow eyes and gruffly said ''Okay, what are you all staring at me like that for, have you not got anything better to do?''

"As is happens; no." came a deep and unified voice.

All the echoing of the voices boomed into Eddies ears like a big bass drum, even his gnarled fingers stuck into his ears didn't dampen down the noise.

But then the unified voice became a whisper, well, not a whisper, but moreso like a fine liquid that pierced his eardrums and penetrated into his veins and worked its way throughout Eddie’s whole body causing him to tremble.

Tremble he did, until he felt a presence within his entire body, and the whispers inside his actual head.

The whispers were like musical notes wafting in from the ocean.....& his trembling ceased with the peace of the sounds.

Still in a sponge-like form, Eddie sat in total silence and darkness, waiting.

He waited like that for over a month, or so it seemed, but suddenly everything around him changed, even his own form, again.

Not understanding why he had been released, he started to struggle towards the entrance of the cave, limbs aching and tingling from having sat in silent meditation for so long.

"I picked a great day to quit meditation!" he said, while mixing himself a rum and coconut juice, sipped out of a straw and a coconut shell.

"Eddie! What do you think you're doing?" bellowed a crotchety old hag carrying a gnarled up length of petrified wood.
