Inspired by ucxb and her bread based creations, I decided to bake some soft pretzels today. I think they came out rather well, so I decided to share them with you... figuratively speaking ;)

The ones on the left are traditional salted soft pretzels. The ones on the right I intentionally made smaller and slightly more compact because they're butter coated and dusted with a cinnamon and sugar mixture.

Thanks again to our wonderful ucxb for providing the inspiration and the recipe :D

Yummy. I have never had a fresh baked, giant pretzel :)

Oh, and I like your pizza plate

I can almost smell them-nice one Cavey! They look very neat too.

I don't bake but am always impressed by the things others can do.

You know, it wasn't until after I posted the image that I suddenly thought "They're going to look at my crockery and think "Gees, this Cavey guy must be a moron. Look... all his crockery is marked so he doesn't accidentally put soup on a plate!""

Mind you, I usually just eat everything straight off the bone while perched on a rock ;)

I don't usually bake either. I love cooking, but usually it's main meals - something Chinese or Thai. I've had a bad week as far as watching my weight is concerned and these are my final 'treat' before I get back to normal tomorrow. I might try to find the ingredients for one of your posted recipes and give it a shot :)

a feast for the eyes, unfortunately for the other organs

Ah, never a truer word has been spoken ;)

They're surprisingly low on calories compared to shop bought/street vendor pretzels. I have so little willpower this week that I could happily have polished off both plates though.

RIGHT NAO

You may help yourself as I am uncomfortable asking a guy to open wide and then stuffing anything in his mouth. :p

*cheers* Cavey!! they look fantastic!!

They did turn out rather well... and they were totally my first attempt! There was in no way a different, equally tasty, but aesthetically unpleasant prior attempt. Isn't that right? RIGHT?! *COUGH*

Seriously though, thank you all for the nice comments. Extra special thanks to ucxb for the recipe and the encouragement.

I am going to try the recipe out too, soon! *pretzelcraze*

Btw, yours look just as amazing and mouth-watering as ucxb's :0
