Never did I say they WOULD call the police, but it was still theft plain and simple. Wrong morally, against the law, and they would be within their rights to file a report IF they so chose to.

Then next time, they should be sure to always ask customers for a receipt, or they're going to have this issue again. It's their responsibility, and they should have asked him for a ticket or a receipt. Morally, he could have just paid. Business wise, it's their own stupid mistake.

I've never known a Pizza place to have you pay in advance, you usually pay only upon receiving your order. I've gone to get Pizza before and it wasn't ready, never did they make me pay for it. I either waited or came back and paid for it once I received it.

It was pretty dumb for them to just hand it without checking to see if it was paid for.

Personally I would have said something instead of just leaving with it.
