Hey everyone,

This thread is somewhat related to a previous thread I posted about sex.

This time, however, I would like to ask about two sub topics. Namely, sex work (prostitution, porn, onlyfans, etc...), and sexual behaviour.

Now regarding sex work, personally, I don't think it needs to exist. I think it only harms the people involved as well as the society in which it circulates. Whether for gratification or financial aid, I think these short term rewards hide the ugliness of the long term effects, especially now with the Internet and how if anything gets uploaded, it can stay there virtually forever. Of course, I am not going to pretend that I don't watch porn. I used to watch a lot of it when I was in my early 20s and I still sometimes watch it when I am bored. Despite that, I still think that we as a society would benefit from doing away with it. What do you guys think?

For the second topic, sexual behaviour. I see this online all the time. Youngsters acting in a sexual manner and engaging in sexual conversations for the whole world to see without an ounce of shame or hesitation. Now these were all consenting adults so, while I still dislike it, it is tolerable but, I just saw a commentary video covering a dating show where all the participants were minors (oldest couldn't be older than 14). Now that is just disturbing to me. Cant kids just be kids? Do you guys agree? Or do you think it's all harmless fun?

One last thing to sign off on. I know sex work isn't going anywhere no matter what anyone says or does. It is called the world's oldest profession for a reason. I just felt like asking the community here what they thought while simultaneously venting by shouting into the void.

Whether it "needs" to exist is irrelevant. It has existed since the australopithecus came down from the trees, and it will always exist.
It certainly fufills certain needs (albeit not in the best way). Males who need sex and females who need resources.

It harms some individuals. Not all but some. I certainly consider myself damaged from decades of seeing escorts. And I've known many girls who are quite damaged. But some guys (mostly older married guys whose wives no longer want to have sex -- but they don't want a divorce either) think it greatly enhances their lives. And have know a handful of girls over the years who got out of the business and went on to live happy, normal lives (though this is not the norm). As for society? I think there are MANY more damaging and destructive things other than sex work. For example, tolerance of violent crime, like we have in many US cities these days.

I agree 100%. They're fed this stuff at a young age from TV, the internet, "TikTok", and quite frankly, public schools. And I think it is disgusting. I was afraid to even curse when I was in grade school (1970s).
