I've experienced similar slow traffic on other forums for completely different topics. Might just be a forum thing in general. I've read more than once on more than one sites that these days, forums are dying.

This is the time of year that the forum slows. Generally, new members join aroud the holidays (Nov and Dec) and things pick up, but then it slows down again. Also, with schools out during the holidays, those members who are in college are sometimes more active as well.
