Killer-Kites-2023.jpg

A pretty typical Communist Killer Kite movie. Nothing much to differentiate it from all the other
Communist Killer Kite movies out there. Still the attempts to stage dramatic fight scenes between
a person and a kite was rather comical at times. As a hint, if you ever find yourself in a situation
where such a kite is trying to force you to lead it in a revolution, the solution is to read Ayn Rand
to the kite.

The Satanist (link to film) A 1968 attempt at ****, I think, because I'm not sure what it really was lol. A guy painfully slowly narrates a story of his meeting some weird occult people with his wife. It's only an hour long. Some ****s are shown, but there's no dialogue, and it's fairly cringey to watch. I couldn't even watch it all to be honest. I skipped ahead here and there to see where it was going to go. Nowhere really, just the like careers of the actors lol.

Hmm. Quite a slow movie, but kept you watching. Kept you guessing. The ending was disappointing, which made the whole film a bit of a waste of time IMHO. And I still don't understand the movie title. Oh, and I can't believe they used junk science in this film, ie the bite mark evidence.

Town Without Pity 1961 (link to film) Four American soldiers stationed near a German village face the death penalty because of the brutal gang **** of a local German girl. Kirk Douglas plays Major Steve Garrett, who is tasked with defending the four in this riveting court room drama. Town Without Pity (German: Stadt ohne Mitleid) is a 1961 American/Swiss/West German international co-production drama film directed by Gottfried Reinhardt. Produced by The Mirisch Corporation, the film stars Kirk Douglas, Barbara Rütting, Christine Kaufmann, and E.G. Marshall. The film was based on the 1960 novel Das Urteil (The Verdict) by German writer Gregor Dorfmeister, who wrote under the pen name Manfred Gregor. At Kirk Douglas' suggestion, the film was rewritten without credit by Dalton Trumbo.

This movie had a great song by Gene Pitney (also called Town Without Pity).

Ace In The Hole (link to film) Nice quality. Ace in the Hole, also known as The Big Carnival, is a 1951 American film noir directed by Billy Wilder. The film stars Kirk Douglas as a cynical, disgraced reporter who stops at nothing to try to regain a job on a major newspaper. The film co-stars Jan Sterling and features Robert Arthur and Porter Hall. More than 1,000 extras and 400 cars were utilized in the crowd scenes.

There's a great line in the film "Don't you know there's a war on........somewhere?"

No, it wasn't an attempt at ****, just the softcore sexploitation debut film of Zoltan G. Spencer with Pat Barrington.

Eyes In The Night (link to film) a 1942 American crime mystery directed by Fred Zinnemann, based on Baynard Kendrick's 1941 novel The Odor of Violets and starring Edward Arnold, Ann Harding and Donna Reed. It's the story of Duncan MacLain, a blind detective that gets mixed up with Nazi agents when he tries to help an old friend. Enjoyable watch.
