We've established that this screenshot is taken from the part in the movie where Marty is in 1955. The screenshot is of Marty McFly(Michael J. Fox) placing headphones on his sleeping father's(Crispin Glover)head.

1. The hairdryer that is holstered is a 1985 model
2. The "Walkman" with headphones wasn't around in 1955

Knowing how the Delorean was built out of odds and ends (didn’t it have a food processor to convert fuel for example) that it would have a hairdryer somewhere inside isn’t that much a leap of faith. Plus didn’t the car freeze during the test run? Having a portable hot air device would come in useful to thaw out the door handles.

I figured the walkman belonged to Marty. I thought he had brought them with him or were at least somewhere in the car?

Nope. At the beginning of the movie, he meets with Doc Brown in an empty parking lot of a local mall. The doc shows Marty how his time machine runs partly using plutonium that he stole from some Libyans.

While the Doc is explaining how the time machine(Which is made from a car called a "DeLorean")works. (Once in the car, if you hit the gas up until something like 80 miles an hour or so, it flashes and disappears back in time to the date specified on the dash of the car.) Suddenly, the Libyans show up in a van with guns and a rocket launcher coming for their plutonium. They kill Doc and set their sights on Marty using the rocket launcher. Marty hops into the time machine and just peels out of there, reaches the required speed and he is zapped back to 1955.

The movie shows the inside of the time machine and there is no hair dryer or walkman present that I noticed.

Had no idea that you were such a hair dryer aficionado to know its a 1985 model- as far as the Walkman I'm pretty sure earlier scenes in the movie showed Marty wearing them.

I'm aware of the plot but..

EDIT: Exhibit A - picture of Marty before the Libyan incident wearing headphones. Safe to assume they're connected to a walkman on his person.

Good game though dude, I enjoyed it. Perhaps we could do more in the Games sub-forum?

I stand corrected. Lost Drifter is correct. During my ban I did a little research. The hair dryer was packed in a suitcase by Doc and left in the time machine. This proves that McFly had access to it. I'm sorry about that Drifter.

While researching it, I did happen to stumble on an interesting thing about the hair dryer.
