Hello, I just moved to a new town because of my job. I don't have any friends here. Its hard to try to meet new people, going out to social places, like bars and what not just feels weird going alone. I've never had a lot friends anywhere I've lived, but this has been the loneliest I've been in awhile.

Keep going out, don't sit at home. I moved to a new town 8 years ago and that's all I do. Don't end up like me.

Bars might not be the best place for meeting people as most people tend to go there with friends or their partner. Could you give evening classes a try? Most people go on their own, so you wouldn't be the only one alone there, and you would be meeting people who share an interest with you.

What Sci said, don't just hide inside.

Welcome to the forum, White_Noise

Do you have a job or go to school? Meeting people at a place you already spend time at might be a good place to start. If not, find something that you want to do and go do it, even alone. You might meet someone. If you do start talking to anyone, mention that your new in town. Maybe they'll want to hang out.

Good luck!
