Folding that one protein is a small, small, tiny step in eventually, POSSIBLY finding a cure for AIDs.

But yes, it's pretty cool that scientists were able to use Foldit to do the research through gamers.

Even if it is a tiny step...it's still helping.

You guys crazy?

Some Dr. Pepper and a few pizzas and I bet these guys could really do some damage to AIDS research. Ha! They are gamers after all...

That's indeed really neat. It's amazing how the human mind is so good at finding patterns and reason in an abstract "3D" space. I mean, those mega computers can do how many calculations every seconds? Talking in millions would probably be vastly understating it. And yet, humans are faster when it involves complex patterns and such.

unless the protein mutates and creates an "I am Legend" scenario!

then it is totally NOT helping... :)
