Hi all,

I'm Matt I'm 35 and from a town near Telford in the UK. I have 2 boys from a previous relationship who I have shared care of (50/50) so in that respect I'm very lucky. I think I could hold my own when it comes to Music, Films and Books and an ever growing intrest in Astronomy.

Some Films I love - Withnail and I, Battle for Algiers, Woman of the Dunes, City of God
Some Books - Down and out in Paris and London, 100 Years of Solitude, All Quiet on the Western Front, The Grapes of Wrath, Fear and loathing in Las Vegas anything by Haruki Murakami.
Some Bands - Smiths, Stone Roses, Joy Division, Velvet Underground, The Clash, Elliot Smith, Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

Anything else about me I'm sure will come out of the woodwork in time!

Why have I joined this Forum? I'm not sure, I have recently broken up with someone and it has just hit me really hard 2 months have passed and I still feel overwhelmed by it all, whereas I'm normally more bullet proof. I dont know if I'm lonely, I have some close friends and of course my children are a source of strength I'm more disillusioned probably. I don't have an express desire to talk about how I feel but I think I just want to connect with people a bit more and listen to how other people feel about their lives and probably get a little perspective! I'm a member of plenty of forums about specific things relating to my interests but just a general forum where you can express yourself a bit more seems quite appealing right now.

So thats me, hello!:)

hey there Matt, welcome to the forum. A lot of cool people here.

You're of the same age as me. I got two kids too, two daughters.
If you'd like to talk about your breakup, or anything else, feel free to pm me. :)

Greetings, Citizen. Hope you feel better here and find the perspectives you seek. Welcome to the forums.

Hello all, North Wales is where my family are from John, a small farm near blaenau ffestiniog. Many a happy long summer holiday as a child spent fishing the waterfall behind my Nain's house!

Thanks for the welcomes, I think talking about the break up will just reopen wounds I'm trying to heal at the moment. But there may come a time when I just can't help myself! Likewise, I'm probably happier to listen rather than talk about me at the moment. So feel free once you get to know me a bit.

Hi Matt welcome to the forum.

I'm also a fan of Velvet Underground, The Clash, Beatles and Stones. I saw the Stones live a few times they are my number one favorite group.

I'd have loved to have seen them at their prime in the late 60's early 70's! One thing to say about the UK, they have had some great bands donw the years!

Blaenau Ffestiniog! The land that time forgot!

Hey there TGC, welcome. The Grapes of Wrath is an awesome read, I can understand you're liking it. Cannery Row was another good one JS wrote- really great characters.

There's nice people here, hope you enjoy it.

Thanks I'm working my way through Steinbecks novels slowly so will read Cannery Row one day I'm sure, East of Eden was also a great read. After George Orwell, he's probably my favourite author.

Matt, I'm a "little" older than most on the forum I did see the Stones in the mid 60's and late 60's. The first time I saw them Brian Jones was still alive. The British Invasion groups were the best. Brings back such great memories for me.

I am truely jealous, Keith Richards in his pomp is perhaps the definition of cool for me, pre Pirates of Carribean washed out Pirate's dad phase! :)
