This was said just now by a FOUR year old. Usually, they are the ones to call you pretty. We babysit a six and four year old for a friend of my brother's. Alena is the six year old, and Nicole is the four year old. Here's the deal, i just had my eyebrows done because everyone couldnt stand them before. My aunt and mother called them "thick" "really black" and "ugly" for years. So i had them threaded yesterday...and Nicole really didn't like them...Even though Alena disagreed, it still hurt.
Nicole:rachel, why do you look like that ?
Alena:Because she just went to the beauty salon !
Nicole:No she didn't...cause her not pretty !
Alena:Yes she is pretty. Right, rachel ?
me:....
im just standing there washing my hands pretending to look at the t.v.
i feel really ugly now. What if everyone else i meet hates them to ? T^T

I definitely would not care what a child thinks. I also have thick eyebrows and I get them waxed I joke that small insects could live in them. As long as you are comfortable with the way they look be happy that you took the initiative to get them threaded. I'm sure they look great.

Sometimes kids don't like change, they don't get it at that age. Having your eyebrows done probably makes you look different to her. Don't take it to heart too much when it comes from kids, they have different views of beauty.

i dont know. im stuck between "okay" and "i dont like them" now. i feel a little uncomfortable with them.

Thank you guys.

Lol when I was a child

One of my nurses had a white spot in her hair because she was aging.

After I tried to brush it out of her hair I asked her if she was going to die.

XP

LOL Sophia

Change takes some time to get use to, if this is the first time you've have your eyebrows done then give it time. It's funny how something little like that can cause such a reaction.

Kids have their own mind. :p

The important thing is that you are personally happy with your appearance.

I wish I had the balls to go get mine done somewhere...Anyway I agree with what everyone's said about kids and change. I used to scream my head off as a kid if my mum didn't have her glasses on. I still think her face looks incomplete without them. Just a last thought, if your not comfortable with them did they maybe do them too thin for you? Going from one to the other might take some getting used to?

Threading hurts...like someone is taking a butterknife and slicing into your skin. i have to getused to it though, cause i have to have themdone every two weeks XP.
Thats so cute =3 lol
i dont know. Mum said they looked SO MUCH BETTER so i guess thin is right for me.

Ouch! I prefer waxing.

I agree that young children have a hard time with change. My kid used to get very upset if I even had a scarf covering the bottom of my face.

Threading dosent hurt much if you get them done every two weeks. Plus its quick. about 5 minutes. Also, i don't know if it's just me but it seems like there's a difference if a child gets angry at something you change about yourself, or calls you a hurtful name and seems completely unaffected by it.

The way I see it, you have to think like a kid...she noticed something different and asked you about it, when she said you didnt go to the salon because youre "not pretty" it seems like she thought that when you go to the salon, you come out looking completely different, "not pretty" the way she said it probably just meant that you didnt get some complete makeover and didnt look dolled up.
