I hope that someone may give me an advice to this situation:

My cat is hurling hair and food for like 5 days now. I tried to not let him eat anything for one day, so that his stomach can relax a bit, but it wasn't working. He has very much hair and loses quite an amount everyday (without turning naked, so it seems natural for him)
Now he hasn't got anything to eat so far, which made him stop hurling for today. But I don't know what to do. I can't get medical attention for him before monday. (it's really bad around here, once a pet gets sick.)
He doesn't seem sick at all, he wants his food, he eats a lot if I would give it to him and he wants to cuddle and play like always. Still, he hurls a lot, if I would give him more food.

I have no idea. Maybe others here would know. Seems you may want to seek advice, if you haven't already, from an online resource for pets.

bodafuko is right. I know that Barbaloot knows cats pretty well.

So sorry to hear about your cat. I hope he feels better.

I don't have any experience with cats, but there have been times when my dog would keep throwing up whenever he ate, so the vet asked us to give him only water for a day to settle his tummy. And for the next couple of days I had to give him only very small amounts of boiled chicken. It takes him a week to recover. The vet asked to stop feeding him his dog biscuits.

Not sure if this helps, but let us know how things go. Hope you kitty recovers soon!

thanks everyone. I found some information.

Guess I will give him dry food until monday and then I will search for "Anti hairball" food or maybe will just take him to the doctor. Hope somebody is working on the 24.12. ---

Take him to the vet.

I do, but I can't before monday. Our vets aren't working on weekends.
I hoped to find something that would help him to get fine through the weekend, so that he doesn't has to suffer... if he even does. Maybe he thinks that it is natural, to hurl hair, even if it is so much now.

Poor kitty. I am a crazy cat lady so I do have some advice for you.

Put a glob of plain petroleum jelly (like Vaseline) on your cats paw or somewhere the cat can lick it off easily (even in the food if your cat will actually eat it). This is the go to method for hairball treatment because it lubricates things. Do this twice a day, then decrease to once a day if you start noticing an improvement.
I'd say the glob should be the size of a shelled almond or smaller.

Getting a dry cat food formulated for preventing hairballs is a good idea. Cats need fiber to prevent hairballs.

I would still recommend taking him to the vet though when you are able to, sometimes what seems like hairballs can actually be something more serious. If not hairball related, frequent vomiting like that when a cat still has an appetite and normal energy is usually a dietary intolerance or from eating spoiled food, but it can also be something that needs veterinary attention.

Also, the spoiled food thing is something to watch out for. If your cat eats wet food that is left out too long or can get in the trash it can cause a lot of vomiting.

I don't think it is spoiled. He gets a new "small" amount twice a day and eats most of it while it came fresh out.
The petroleum jelly sounds interesting, I will see about it. Thank you.
