All right, I've decided to return back into society! Yes, young and lonely me will be transferring from homeschool to a real school! I have spent more than a year inside my home without leaving it only for doctors appointments; and I am happy to say that my exclusion from society is coming to an end. Yet I need advice from you guys, I trust everyone here. :D

I will be going shopping for clothes this week and I have no ******* idea what other 15/16 year olds (male) are wearing today. My clothes are plain, old, and boring. I need some new up-to-date clothes in order for me to feel confident and make my process of reintegrating myself into society much easier. All of my current clothes are huge and baggy (result of tremendous weight loss), so it is definite that I need new clothes, and I want these to be flawless.

So, those of you that know teenagers (males) or see them walking around your city, what are they wearing? :D

Try wearing sports jerseys. Especially Football ones. They make you look more muscular and are very comfortable to wear. Semi-cut Basketball shoes with jeans. You are all set!

Congratulations on this important step you are making. I'm sure you will succeed.

Baggy jeans down at your knees so everyone can see your boxers. Don't forget the white tank and the backwards/sideways baseball cap. Yeah, I got winners living around me.

Ah that's easy! Hell, I don't even need to go shopping! All of my current clothes are baggy on me (bought them when I was fatter).

:p

Most guys (of all ages) just wear simple styles like jeans and t-shirts/hoodies. Some push the envelope with fashion and go for an edgier look (like "emo", or fashionably dressy). Given your age, I'm assuming you have a modest budget and don't want to stand out too much from your peers.

Buy jeans that fit properly. Not so baggy they're sloppy, not so tight that it looks like you got lost and confused in the girl's section. Price range in jeans is highly variable, I'm not much for impressing people with a logo across my ass but sometimes it's worth a little extra if the fit is genuinely better.

Buy some nifty t-shirts. Personally, I'm not really fond of cheesy sayings, looking like a walking advertisement, or repping colleges you'll never attend and fictional athletic departments. There are places online where you can buy artistically designed and unique t-shirts, I like these better than cookie-cutter mass-produced designs and in practice I've found they get compliments. You can show a personal interest or style without worrying too much about standing out in a bad way.

You can't go too wrong with a traditional button-down, but make sure it's age-appropriate. There's "casual" shirts and then there's business-wear for older men. You want the former. Simple fleece hoodies are warm and versatile, everyone seems to wear them. Long-sleeved t-shirts and light sweaters should fit correctly -- not baggy, not tight. Decide if you want to be more "preppy" or more "casual" and dress accordingly.

Some guys like a "rugged" low boot, others opt for athletic sneakers or Converse. I like casually fashionable sneakers like Puma/Adidas in neutral colors more than brightly-colored serious athletic wear.

I'm not really a fan of blazers, denim jackets, or outdoorsy windbreakers. I'd aim for a more tailored style that's still casual.

Check out the "teen" stores to get some ideas: American Eagle, Pacsun, etc.

Thanks for the advice guys :D

Yeah, I've seen only T-shirts and hoodies around (how they can survive wearing hoodies all day, in Florida, I have no clue). And either plaid shorts or jeans (dark blue or black); I'll take a look at these!

I won't let a woman dress me unless she's buying the clothes.

And even then, nothing tight below the waist. Or purple.

holy hell, BJD... stereotype much??? :club:

AskMen is a pretty good site. Generally, look at whichever guys you admire and take cues from them; I've always dressed with collared shirts and something that tries to exude class(and possibly a bit of pretentiousness).
