I've been on a kick lately to admit that I have problems. I must have problems with relationships too and I've been trying to figure out what those problems are.

Well this is hard to admit, but I do think I've been, at least subconsciously, thinking of women as objects. It's been on my mind that I need to "get a gf". Well I realized that's not the proper way to look at it.

Instead of looking at women and thinking, man, what do I need to say, how do I need to act to "get her to like me", I've gained a new perspective. It's pretty easy and simple. I wish I had thought of it before. Maybe I was told it before or read it before, but didn't want to admit I was looking at things incorrectly.

Instead of looking at women like I have been, now I realize I need to see them as another person. Another person who has interests, goals, and feelings. Now when I meet a woman, I promise not to try and think of what I need to do to attract her, but how I can genuinely connect with her as a person. I wont worry about if she likes me or not, I'll just try and share myself with her and see what she's all about.

Jesse, that's very insightful. =]

I think a lot of us have looked at the opposite (or same) sex like that at one point or another, and some never change their perspective. So I'm glad you've been able to look inside yourself and see this so that you may fix it. :)

*hugs*

hey now that's the spirit :D
but keep in mind that the whole 'new perspective' thing is not as easy as you put it. There's no such guarantee that when you come around a woman in the future you won't get confused on the way and totally forget what the 'new perspective' was about.
just don't give up!

Thanks ladies, ((estreen)). It's sort of a "don't worry about it and it will happen" type of attitude.

Lol Rocket. :p

And yes Jesse, I think that's the best attitude to have. It always seems that we finally obtain something (such as love) when we finally aren't looking for it. Damn irony. -_-;

Isn't that the truth! But you still have to be careful :p I wasn't looking one time and got ran over! Maybe you shouldn't look for the road, but when you come up on one you should look both ways before crossing.

That's probably not a very good metaphor, so in other words, don't look for love, but if you find someone make sure you know what you're getting into.

Well now, I couldn't have said that better myself. :)

That's very true, Estreen. I also tend to believe that usually love or something we need in our life is right in front of our eyes. Some people look too hard or concentrate too much and overlook it.

Very much agreed, Nilla. A lot of times over-thinking things just makes things worse. I used to kind've be like that, and it didn't get me anything except disappointment.

Gah, over-thinking has been my arch nemesis for a long time. Maybe I can finally quit thinking too much!

Just keep yourself busy, and you'll have less time to think. :p

Lol. I know that doesn't always work, but sometimes it does. :)
