Some do. Granted, it's far from being the majority, it's probably a very small percentage, but some do. They get something out of it, whatever it is or how maybe misguided that something is. It's not really for no reason it's called the oldest proffession. But, as I said before, just "prostitution" as a concept is so mind-numbingly complex a subject, finding any real answers on an online forum is kind of akin to lifting a rock hoping to find a handwritten message from God detailing his plan for humanity lol.
Which is why I figure, I don't know if the profession should disappear or not, but since it probably won't, like EVER, maybe it would be better to try and make it safer for those involved, and try to give them easier access to services of all kinds, like health insurance or ways to get out of it more easily, than to debate wether or not it should exist and speculate on wether a prostitute is happy or not.
For example, my older boss at the time was seeing a young escort 40 years his junior. I don't think I'd be able to, but he's been seeing her regularly for years, enough that he says he's MORE than a client to her now and is more or less the reason that at 20-something, she has a luxury condo and a sports car. He helped her during the pandemic, since with confinement her income dried up because of distancing measures, so she leaned on her "regulars" like him to support herself. While many prostitution stories are tragic, this one wasn't. I don't know what her perspective on it was, but from his, it helped heal an older man who got out of a very bitter and damaging divorce.
I don't think it's that absurd to argue that some do enjoy it, I just think you're very, very likely wrong when you do, just not necessarily always.
