That's some silly logic. When applied to anything else, it doesn't quite sound right..

20,000 people die each year from drunk driving. Maybe it's supposed to happen.

547,000 americans die each year from cancer. Maye it's supposed to happen.

Uhh... nope. Things dieing out isn't supposed to happen when it can be prevented. There's no reason why we should wipe out an entire species of animals because we want material items or because poachers want to make a quick buck.

To let bad things happen then say it's supposed to happen because it happens so much, is just shrugging your shoulders at a situation because you don't care to help. Or maybe you don't feel like you can help. But it's making excuses not to do anything about it.

5 million dogs and cats are killed yearly in U.S. shelters. Maybe it's supposed to happen

800,000 children under the age of 18 are abducted each year. Maybe it's supposed to happen.

I do not think any of those things

i think that animals have become extinct thoughout history, and almost every animal that has ever been is long gone. I think that is just the way biology is

I dont think anything other than animal extinction is supposed to happen

I think ALL animals will be extinct

Humans are animals too. Maybe disease, natural disasters, accidents, and terror attacks are the planet's nature way of keeping us in check biologically.

I don't say that to be smart or anything, but it's a thought I've had for many, many years now. Couple thousand people die from a flood... more room for new people. Even if it's true, I still don't like it and I won't just shrug every time a life is lost.

People consume, that's just about all we do. But it doesn't make sense to consume in such a manner as to completely take away something natural from the planet. We eat chicken like there's no tomorrow. But because we like it so much, everyone makes sure there's plenty of chickens. Chicken's aren't going extinct. Why should tigers? Cause they don't come marinated in spices and fried in a paper bucket? (I know that sounds like a joke, but I'm being totally serious...no matter how funny it sounds :p)

I just first want to say I am friendly :) I agree with your point

I do not mean to take any merit or importance away from any particular topic like tigers being horribly killed

but - I think in concepts :)

I think and talk too much, so

YEs, people consume. We are horrible at this. We destroy everything we touch. Many people think we are a VIRUS and that may be true

Everything we take away from the planet is "natural". I wonder if in 10,000 the earths crust is just going to collapse because all of the fossil fules have been raped

The human animal eats chicken, the tiger animal eats man.

The earth is becoming so populated that India is not quite so wild anymore, and tigers are sometimes coming into villages. There are maneating tigers in India and maybe Sumatra.

But there are also child killers in Ohio, and a flood killed a few hundred people in my hometown

and animals will be extinct anyway :(

Animals have to adapt to the fact that we take all their living space. That's why we get raccoons and bears roaming into the city; They've been pushed out of their space and whatever's in that trash can sure smells yummy compared to starving.

I'm not saying tigers should be allowed to eat humans or raccoons should be allowed to knock your garbage all over the streets.. I just recognize that these things happen as a direct result of human's need to spread out and procreate.

I do agree that we're a virus. But a very aware virus that can make a difference about what we do. Taking two minutes to sign a petition. Maybe the petition will mean nothing and tigers will still die out and the only place to see one would be in the zoo before those die too. But at least I tried.

If I'm not happy with how something in the world or in my life is going, I do whatever small thing I can to make it change. It's better than sitting on my hump, because at the end of the day, I can at least said i tried to make a difference.

Besides... Have you seen how cute they are!? Who wouldn't want to save just one more of these?

Awwwwww

I pretty much agree with that :)

It IS important to take up personal causes and to try to save the world, it is what makes us BETTER than animals :D

painfull :( so true... I weep for humanity

Extinctions are natural and inevitable, but when extinctions are a direct result of human activity, such as with tigers, than I think it is important to try and preserve the species.

Especially with a species that kicks as much ass as tigers.
