I find pictures of the Sun fascinating, and its size too.

Although it's nothing compared to VY Canis Majoris (The largest star ever discovered) it's allegedly a red hyper-giant.

Yeah, around half the size of earth. It's also red because it's quite literally rust in the rocks; iron oxide.
 
I don't think they've found any smaller planets similar to earth, they found one similar size and temperature called Gliese 581 that also is likely to support liquid water, here's a pic:

That looks like what i got taking a picture in a blizzard at night.
 
Nothing beats the Hubble Ultra Deep Field pic, I find it amazing.
