I am going to make more of an attempt to attract butterflies and stuff.

I am pretty excited for more birds, as well.

I hope you get a good group of butterflies, it's always nice to see them.

Sadly, there were very few monarchs last year, and in these past couple of years.
I really hope they can be saved. I remember as a kid we used to see them every year - I don't think there were ever a ton of them, but they were still around. I think I only saw 2 last year.

We got a good amount of bees, but we got a mix of good and bad bees.
We got honeybees and bumblebees, but unfortunately also carpenter bees - I didn't know there was any such thing as bad bees.
When I first saw them I thought "oh cool, those bees look nice and robust this year".
But they were in fact carpenter bees, which are bigger and shinier than the regular bumblebee.

I guess we'll see what kinds of insects we get this year.

I hope they hurry up and finish construction in the park, so I can have my old running route back again.

And I hope they don't end up ruining the park.
The kids' play equipment has changed over the years, but the grass and the walking path have stayed the same this entire time I've lived here (30+ years). I always liked it, it was a nice long loop.

This is a case of, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
