The same parts of the electorate who voted Trump have been brainwashed by Fox News for decades into thinking single payer universal healthcare = "socialism." Even though the US spends a similar amount on medicaid/care per capita to that which other countries spend on their "socialist" healthcare systems.It's really hitting me, now, all of the sudden, how ludicrous it is, that America (USA): the supposed greatest country in the world, doesn't have a national healthcare system.
Canada has national healthcare. Britain has national healthcare. I believe most of the Western European countries do. I think some of the Eastern European countries do, not sure though.
I know as far as the implementation goes, it's difficult, because there is sooooo much private capital involved, and for so long. But, this is all just absurd. We should have National Healthcare by now.. It's time. It's probably too late: our system isn't designed to function that way, but... Wow, it just seems absurd that we don't.
