What do you miss? (Warning: Nostalgia)

Going from being an ugly duckling trying to make myself a swan, losing it again..now being the ugly duckling again. I miss the outcome that a tried and succeeded in. I was an ugly duckling became a swan then lost it again. No going back, it was the challenge and wining. Now all I see is past, past, past. I miss succeeding, making someone smile genuinely making them pleased, thankfully. I have received knock back after knock back always picking myself up again. I miss that being able to pick myself up feeling, it's beyond my control now, it is impossible to be 16 again. Become excited to be twenty again, be attractive to the opposite sex, that looks a man gives you when you are the only cake he wants to eat. Yes I miss that! A man that wants no other but you. Impossible with the variety online, always there to tempt, it would take a man of steel not to succumb to the treats available to him online. Online dating and secret sites have made some excel other derail.

I hope I’m posting in the right category because this should be a non controversial topic, hope it stays that way.

I’ve been looking at threads that have been posted a decade or more ago and when I see the year I always remember what used to be trendy then, how life used to be with that day’s tech etc. And I miss some or a lot of it, it makes me nostalgic.

So I’m opening a discussion about what you guys miss from the past? I urge you to keep it non political Thank you.

I’ll start. I miss the way tumblr was in 2013-2014 - that seems to have been different for everyone but for me it was the aesthetics and fashion. I’m still using that site whenever I have time to just enjoy photography but it just isn’t the same anymore, there isn’t too much color as before. I also miss when I would make my own little blog where I would get creative and add some cute glittery GIFs or generate my own text with cool fonts (sort of like MySpace back in the day).
I probably should mention I was born in the late 90s so that’s why those are some of the fondest memories I have. And as someone who grew up mostly using the internet I miss the old internet lots.

How about you? What’s making you nostalgic and you wish you could still do?

I’m also now having an idea to make a separate thread for a game where you post a year from the past and the next person who posts has to say what they remember from that year and continue the chain. What do you guys think, would it be fun?

I am just wondering why nostalgia has to come with a warning. For some nostalgia is better than their present. ? Why did you caution it?
