I picked the right time to go snow shoveling tonight, because it was just then that I saw a Bernese mountain dog and his friend (a mutt) walking and playing together in the snow. They looked happy, like the weather wasn't bothering them all but instead perking them up ☺️
I've had to shovel my entire life, and once I moved, I was ecstatic that I no longer had to. I love the look of snow, but could never fully enjoy it. I always had to work or travel in it, and shovel it. Now, I can actually kick back, relax, and watch it snow in my cozy apartment. So far though, I've had to work and travel in it. I've yet to be able to sit home and enjoy it.

I've been wanting to clean out and organize things a bit more since I moved to my new place. I put my mind to it this week and got it all accomplished. I'm going to do it again, but downsizing to live much simpler little by little. This makes me happy! :D

guy on a different forum just wrote: fancy seeing my **** .. hahaha lmao who the hell writes that to a stranger :D no hii how are you or anything.. im dying of laughter here :D
Some people do the craziest things online to complete strangers.

There's this Youtube channel that I watch/listen to, and he's based in Britain. While working on his latest video, he came across an 80-page document in German that needed translating, and he posted in his community tab asking for German volunteers. So I ended up getting involved in his research, along with two other German speakers, and now my name is credited in the description to his video! 💜
It's absolutely nothing, and I realize that, but for someone like me who is a literal no one, those 15 seconds of fame are something worthy to screenshot and keep for years. 💜

I went to the hardware store with my Mom the other day to look for chicken wire to protect our tulips that are coming up early this year. If we don't defend them, the squirrels and rabbits will eat them, it's happened a few years ago and we don't want a repeat incident.

Anyway while I was there we walked through the lawn ornament area.
There were lots of cute real-life and fantasy animal characters.
But at nearly the end of the shelves, we found one that stopped us in our tracks -
3/8 scale "Life-Size Puppy".
They had German Shepherd, a Yellow Lab, and last but not least, a Golden Retriever.
They were all in the sitting pose, and really cute - a very good likeness of the real thing 🐶

I wish I was able to video this occurrence I experienced today. I’m sure it would’ve gone viral. Some might see it as their worst nightmare come true, others like me will think it was amazingly beautiful. Be warned, it’s about spiders.

I was chain sawing a fallen tree today and once I’d completed that task I decided to cut up a few other stacked bits of logs and large branches that I had piled under another tree earlier last year. I was letting it dry out for later use on camping trips. As I was ripping into a three foot long paperbark log some 10 inches in diameter, I observed a young huntsman spider run out from a crack in the log. It was about 2 inches across. I’m not sure how old that made it, but I’ve seen them very tiny at ¾ inches across and as adults where they’re about 5-6 inches across. Apparently they take 8-12 months to grow to adult size and live for a couple of years. So maybe a few months old. It was quite cute to see it scamper away and I’ve seen many in my years.

But as I continued to cut the log, I saw another one come out of the same crack. Then another. Then another two, then three more. Then five, ten, twenty, fifty more! They kept pouring out like I’d struck a vein of endless spiders. There were no less than one hundred 2 inch younglings scampering in all directions, including towards me in the hope that I was a safe tree to climb. I stepped back a moment until the evacuation seemed to come to an end and then finished the last bit of cutting to allow the log to fall into pieces, where it revealed the biggest female huntsman spider I have ever seen; and I’ve seen plenty. She was about 7 inches across and slowly meandered to the leftover pile stacked at the base of the tree. I was amazed that all those younglings were still hanging around with her. By that size they’re usually already out fending for themselves. I have no idea if they’ve all since reunited or decided it was time to venture out on their own. It would’ve made for an awesome video.
