^ and they are not happy about it... probably it's smth really wrong with me irl.
I feel like again in a kindergarten people don't want to play with me... should I complain to my mom?:ROFLMAO:

not happy about what? what happened?
About me joining them. They told me, they are not sure it will work good, it will take for me too long to get into the cards due to my lack of language. Maybe they are right(though I don't think so:)), anyway they want to have a good time, understandable, I also used to prefer to play with the stronger players in more difficult games and was sometimes annoyed by people who thought for the ages in their turn. So yeap, probably it sounds quite risky to them and it wasn't a good idea, it's not nice when some strangers come and ruin your game.
There was other guys nearby, but either they don't gather anymore or don't announce it.

i thought it was just board games, but it sounds like you mean high stakes card games

It's "just" board games, the only stake is a dopamine. Just the board games geeks are so geeks.:) Dunno, maybe they just don't want some weird strangers or smth like this.

random thought:
What does "beer evenings" or "game eveings" or "parties" or other things like this have to do with life-work balance. Does "life" suppose only life in a company, does nobody have kids/dogs/cats waiting at home? After a working day I mostly want to be left alone, at least by anything work-related.
"Corporative culture" is too complicated for me, maybe I sould think more about freelance.

I was scrolling some vacancies and saw smth that looked liek a dream job, but I don't fit :( And some others looked like they want one employee for a few position, weird.

Some customers deserve to be blacklisted and exposed for the ignorant, selfish, condescending people they are. We can post reviews on businesses and products but the customer gets off free and clear. It's just not right. People need to be a bit more appreciative of what some businesses do for them instead of being bullies.

That sounds rather unusual, but I have only been exposed to one board game group and theirs seemed to be more of a fun social gathering where they just happened to center around different board games.

When I played, sometimes I wanted to play a game with someone who knew the rules and played good, but in that cases we arranged with the friends only, didn't announce it on all the internet. They organize the tables in advance so maybe they need more affords to arrange a table loyal to people not speaking local language.
Anyway if I want to play or socialize, I have to find another way.

Sleepless sleep sucks and insomnia can blow me. Oh geez here I go thinking I have a medical condition. How soft of me.

I am thinking about life in general... and about how I'm too much of a wuss to love people. I'm kind of wondering why I'm like this and I'm also wondering why I am writing this because no one cares what I think anyway. I'm also thinking someone may respond to that to deny it but they won't because I'm adding this sentence to say that I would expect them to respond but now don't expect them to because I am saying this which will cause people to not bother to argue with me because there really isn't any point anyway. I am thinking myself in circles. It is dangerous for me to respond to these things, I think, because I don't think in logical sequences all the time. I wonder why I'm so lonely and I think it's gotten to my head because I never expected to ever really talk to anyone here, I thought I would post once or twice and be ignored like I was on every other forum I've ever been on, but people here are so kind and caring that they spare a moment to acknowledge me and it really means a lot to me, so I guess this is my way of saying thank you to everyone here... That's what I'm thinking right now.
Who told you no one cares?
Human beings cared what we liked, wanted or heard.
Have you ever heard a thing about resonance?
The "noise" or the sound ppl make is followed up if a person resounds in the same frequency other is (or like to be). The older a person gets, he/she knows what they like. The good thing of loneliness (now) it is the next life, if I come back, it will not be the same (twice).

It was 9/11 today. These last couple of years, I've noticed that there seem to be less and less mentions of it in the news on the day. I remember where I was when I heard about it. I was at school, I had just started sophomore year. It was a weird day because no one knew what happened for a while, or who was to blame - just that something terrible had happened.

Ever so often, I wonder - what if there was no 9/11?
Would things be different, and better?
Would we be living in a better world today if we didn't have 20+ years of the War on Terror, and its cost in terms of money, resources, time, and lives?
What could we have focused on instead for the last 20 years, if we didn't have the war?
Would we have had alternate fuels sooner, or some other kind of technological breakthrough?
Would we be living in a more futuristic world, a more advanced society?

Or would it, or something like it, have happened sooner or later anyway?
Another thing I think is that, as bad as 9/11 and the War on Terror were, and as much as it set us back, I feel like the 2008 Recession would have still happened, and I feel like that also did a lot to get the world to the bad state it's in today.
So, apart from the lives that would not have been lost, I don't really think things would be that much better today if history took a different course.

But I guess we'll never know.

It's been on the news all week where I live (including today). Every community around here had a ceremony. Several communities around here have a piece of one of the towers and created a memorial around those pieces. A lot of people (cops, firefighters and whatnot) from the area went to New York to help. It's actually still a big deal around me.

I think 9/11 today entirely depends on who you are and if you know anyone impacted personally by it. I have friends and family who fought in the war. I have friends who were severely injured in the war. My brother in law was one of the firefighters that helped at the crash site in PA. It still matters to me. I was just at the memorial they built at the crash site in PA this summer. There were A LOT of people there. And for rural PA with nothing else around, I think that says something about how people feel about that day (though, it's not too far off the turnpike)

But no, I don't think we'd have a better society if that day never happened. That day, even if just for a short time brought us all together. We were united for that short period of time. I think if that day never happened, we would be even more divided than we are today. Also, they would have just found someone else to have a war with or get involved with. America can't help butting in.

Around here it was different, if you didn't watch the news, or even look at a news site, you wouldn't have known the difference between it and any other day. I just found it odd that for years it was talked about a lot, but the last few years, it seemed to slow down.

As for me, I've met a few people who were in the war in some way, but no one I knew well, and no one that was hurt or worse. I think where I am it was kind of removed from it, in terms of physical distance and involvement.

But yeah in terms of the bigger picture, I don't think not having 9/11 would have prevented today's problems. The division has been moving that way for a long time, ever since the '80s or even '70s. It's just become more and more mainstream since the '00s or so. There have always been extremists, but the internet helped accelerate the divide. And it's the same with tensions in the Middle East - it didn't just start then, all that stuff has been going on there for a long time. It probably would have come to a head sooner or later.

It's still a big talking point here, especially on the local level. Everyone who came into the store, talked about it. My news feed was covered, although that's probably because I have everything else mostly blocked. My town certainly felt the tragedy on 9/11, despite us being far away. I think it was how unnecessary it was.

Part of the reason I no longer watch live broadcasts of news, is because a lot of it seems so unnecessary.
