    Ridiculous comments

I think I was the one who said you'll be ok, from memory. I meant it, and I'm not your dad. Ah, yes. I just checked, and found that you had replied to me with a rather sarcastic comment. I wasn't deflecting the issue, as you put it. I was giving my thoughts and my experience. That's all...

What are you thinking right now?

I find the North American term "junk" a bit revolting.  However, I would never seek to ban it.

What are you thinking right now?

It's a bit like the word bastard. In Australia at least, and I think also the UK, NZ etc, you can be a tall bastard, short bastard, fat bastard, rich bastard, etc. All friendly. But you never want to be known as "that bastard".

What are you thinking right now?

The C word is treated differently in most Commonwealth countries (Canada excepted) than it is in the United States. It's still considered offensive, but between friends, it is not necessarily so. It can be neutral, or even positive. One of the differences is that, for whatever reason, we don't...

    Female seeking friendship

No, we're not.  It's just that your post is worded in a similar way to the sort of thing some people with intentions that might not be completely honest might post. I'm assuming honesty, unless I find otherwise.  I think most others here are too.  I was a bit sarcastic in my previous post, so I...

Why are most British people so socially cold?

Funny about New York. I've never been there, but I've heard that they're not rude in NYC, just in a hurry. You don't waste time in a store with pleases and thank yous, because there is a queue of people behind you, so in a way it's a form of politeness towards the other people. I found Hong...

Who do you think you are?

I may have to leave the Frenchness to brother Richard. I might not have any, at least that I now know of.  For the first time in my life, I bothered to Google the surname Favelle, which is a name way back on my maternal side.  I just thought, not only does it look French, but I went to school...

The need to wear a coat / jacket / cardigan / hoodie outside, even in the summer...

There's a place for long clothes in summer. Ask the Arabs. It works, and keeps the sun off. I live under the Australian sun. +45 degrees Centigrade in summer sometimes, but I haven't worn short pants since I was a kid. You might not need thick layers, but a thin jacket is fine. And yes, it...

    I think I'm unlikable

I personally wouldn't WANT to be a social butterfly. I've a tiny handful of people I hold dear, and that's plenty enough for me. You'll be OK,.

Who do you think you are?

"..... mixed up Canadian." Is there any other sort? I kid. :D

Strong feelings for a girl i train with

Yep, Richard is being helpful. He's also correct. And, in my knowledge, a French accent will be an asset in these matters. :D

What are you feeling, hoping, thinking, or remembering right now?

I am thinking I'm a bit of an arsehole for breaking that perfect 6000. Sorry. :D

    Powwow season!

I can tell you about an Aboriginal Australian "welcome to country" ceremony. Not sure if it's similar.

    Online Dating?

This is a very salient point.  Successful matches mean no return business.  It's actively against their business interest to do what they claim to do.
