I've been suffering with Bruxism (where you grind your teeth very hard in your sleep). It has gotten so bad i have constant pain in my jaws and its likely to make me end up with a square face like Barbrady from South Park.

Apparently there’s no damn cure. And no one seems to have bothered looking into the condition. It's driving me crazy. All my teeth and my jaw hurt so much.

Anyone else suffer from this? It cant be so uncommon the medical and science industry practically ignores it completely. Though treatments over here tend to be well behind the states - perhaps you guys have something?

Have you seen a dentist? If its something physical, then the dentist can suggest a cure, but if its stress related or something to do mentally, then you'd have to see a psychologist.

As an unregistered psychologist, I know that depending on the cause, stress management and behaviour modification therapy have worked for some people suffering from this condition.

Hope this helps =) and that you feel better soon.

Try getting a mouth guard, and wear it while you sleep. Even if it doesn't prevent you from grinding, it can help stop your teeth from mashing into each other when you do grind.

I have TMJ and I grind my teeth.
Get a mouth guard from a good dentist - mine was about $700, but worth it.
More than likely it's stress related.
I was getting acupuncture for the TMJ since even with the mouth guard, my jaw was still clicking/popping while eating. The acupuncture has help a lot.
I tried sports mouth guards years ago and ending up chewing those in my sleep.
I hope you find relief soon. When mine was at it's worse last year, I had a LOT of pain and headaches.

I suffered with the same problem some years back,I think it's stress related and it won't go away until you get rid of the stress. (I know, more easily said than done.)
I ground away all my healthy back teeth and now have to ware partial dentures.Get a guard now!
John.

PS I think I've blown my chance of ever getting a date on this site now!

This. If your tooth enamel cracks, it's difficult to repair without having to put a crown on the tooth (and crowns suck), depending on how severe the cracking is.
