I think the point is she needs this work to finish her course. There's a lot of fields where they make it pretty impossible to get into and your jumping through hoops all the time. I think she probably got into this because she wants to bake and has a passion for it which is pretty much the best reason for doing something.

I'm not talking for the poster here, well I am I guess but I just feel for her...

I don't think there was a point, actually. This thread has gone all over the place.

Anyway, I'm just confused. I understand studying your passion. That's a great thing, and we should all love our jobs.

I don't understand spending a year studying it and being all thrown off when you find out that you're required to have real life work experience. I mean, did they keep that a secret to trick potential students? If so, complaints need to be filed. If it wasn't a surprise, then I don't understand why somebody would choose to attend the school and not spend the year preparing. Trying to get a job lined up, arranging transportation, etc

So... what happened? How did you end up studying baking and getting trapped in this Catch 22? And is it really impossible to find somebody who will let you work for free? Or at least just enough money to cover travel?

Yeah that's a fair point but I guess we are just not getting told the ins and outs of the situation.

As far as I read it she's just trying to get help with the loneliness problem not so much the job and the boyfriend. I think its clouded the issue mentioning them because people are all a bit confused now!
