This was an article on Sympatico.ca this morning. The study showed that people are most likely to lie to their mothers (25% of men and 20% of women) O.O than their partners. Men also tell about 3 lies a day and women only 2 (yeah...right...). Here is the list of the top 10 lies people tell their partners.

10. Men & Women - It's just what I've always wanted.

9. Men - You've lost weight.
Women - No, I didn't throw it away.

8. Men - Sorry I missed your call.
Women - Oh I've had this for ages.

7. Men - No your bum doesn't look big in that.
Women - I'm on my way.

6. Men - I'm stuck in traffic.
Women - It was on sale.

5. Men - I'm on my way.
Women - I've got a headache.

4. Men - It wasn't that expensive
Women - I didn't have that much to drink.

3. Men - I had no signal.
Women - It wasn't that expensive.

2. Men - Nothing's wrong, I'm fine.
Women - I don't know where it is, I haven't touched it.

And the #1 lie men and women tell each other....

1. Men - I didn't have that much to drink.
Women - Nothing's wrong, I'm fine.

It's so important to feel like you can trust someone you call yourself in or building a meaningful relationship with, whether it be a friendship, romantic, or even a shallow yet positive acquaintanceship.

I think the #1 lie for men should have been #9 or #7 the latter being my #1 choice. :D

*runs away before any women read this*

I use lie #1 for women... Though I use it with everyone I know to be honest. Don't want people worrying about me.
I think I would agree for lie #1 for men lol, despite how smashed the guys look they still continue saying that.

It's #2 for men. So it's pretty high on the list for guys, at least more are admitting it now. I bet 10 years ago that would be much lower on the list.

Don't really see much in that list that I have used. Guess that lacking any social circles whatsoever also removes most unnecessary lies from one's life...

All right, finally, a silver lining from loneliness! :p

#1 is the biggest lie I tell everyone, EXCEPT when I am in a relationship with a man and EXCEPT "SOMETIMES" my best friend. Honesty and communication are the keys to a strong and loving relationship. I wouldn't want my man to keep things from me that are important.

My Best Friend (well I have 2), I will tell I am fine, if I don't want to go into detail or if I just don't feel like talking about whatever it is AT THAT MOMENT. Eventually, I will tell them if it is something that bothered me a lot or really affected me for a while.

As far as telling other people that I am fine when I am not, I do it all the time. When someone says, Hi, How are you? I feel like it is just a phrase. Most people don't care, and the ones that would care, are probably not in the mood to hear about it.

I get headaches very often, sometimes just from putting my hair in a ponytail. I'd wish I were lying about it. :p

If you really loved me, you would.....

They don't love you. they want ***. And chicken wings. Epic lie.

"I got this".

Hmm. Na UH.

The number one lie that both genders say about the other.

[The other gender] is so shallow! [My gender] is not as shallow as [the other gender.]

When we all know that both genders are shallow, and date based on looks.
