The new members are the only ones starting new topics. I want to see the activity ramp up too, but some help with new topics from the forum veterans might help too mates. lol
 
Topics shouldn't be forced. If someone has something interesting to say, go for it. New or old member shouldn't matter.

It's just that stretching for activity only creates the lamest topics.
 
The problem with the forum vets chiming in is that we've pretty much seen it all and posted all the topics we can think to post, unless we run into some issues with our lives and need advice or like Bender and we start a journal. Some of us do post new topics, but usually in the entertainment section.

Contrary, a lot of "new" members don't even post.
 
It's all these gratuitous and distracting giphy signatures that are driving folks away.

You can turn signatures off in your User CP.  It's under Edit Options. 

That said, I don't care for the animated ones.
