I see, well, it's a solid, middle-class career, known for reliability even in iffy economic times. So there are definitely some significant upsides to it.
I don't know if I mentioned this, but accounting was my original major.
At the time I dropped it and switched to business administration with a focus on management, because at that point I just needed to get my degree done.
But looking back I really wish I'd just stuck with accounting. At least if I had, I may have still had some difficulties in life, but at least money wouldn't have been one of them. I fell off because I got a lot of nonsense in my head. Anyway, I think that it's really important to get a specialty, rather than a generalist major. Everything seems to be all about specialization these days.
My brother and a lot of his friends did very well for themselves in accounting too, so that's another thing making me feel like I should have just done it.
I wouldn't worry too much about the math either - it's basically knowing how to add and subtract, multiply and divide according to specific rules, in different situations. You don't need to worry about anything like calculus or anything like that.
Anyway, I'm sure you have enough in you to master the art of numeromancy. I think you should go for it!
